- Using Mobile Phone Data to Estimate the Relationship between Population Flow and Influenza Infection Pathways.

International journal of environmental research and public health, 18巻, 14号, 出版日 2021年07月12日, 査読付, 国際誌, This study aimed to analyze population flow using global positioning system (GPS) location data and evaluate influenza infection pathways by determining the relationship between population flow and the number of drugs sold at pharmacies. Neural collective graphical models (NCGMs; Iwata and Shimizu 2019) were applied for 25 cell areas, each measuring 10 × 10 km2, in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Hyogo prefectures to estimate population flow. An NCGM uses a neural network to incorporate the spatiotemporal dependency issue and reduce the estimated parameters. The prescription peaks between several cells with high population flow showed a high correlation with a delay of one to two days or with a seven-day time-lag. It was observed that not much population flows from one cell to the outside area on weekdays. This observation may have been due to geographical features and undeveloped transportation networks. The number of prescriptions for anti-influenza drugs in that cell remained low during the observation period. The present results indicate that influenza did not spread to areas with undeveloped traffic networks, and the peak number of drug prescriptions arrived with a time lag of several days in areas with a high amount of area-to-area movement due to commuting.

Educational Technology Research, 日本教育工学会, ETR39巻, 4号, 掲載ページ 259-270, 出版日 2016年10月, 査読付, 本研究では，批判的思考力に関わる３つのスキルに基づき大学生を対象にタイプ分けを行い，タイプ毎に批判的思考に関する態度や行動と能力の関係を分析するとともに，能力を高めるために態度や行動を通して寄与している要因を分析した．その結果，３タイプに分類することができ，批判的思考力に関わるスキルが比較的高いタイプでは小中学生時からの経験の積み重ねが現在の行動に影響を与えており，能力が身に付いていることが分かった．また，スキルが全体的に高くないタイプでは，過去からの積み重ねと結びついておらず，現在の行動が能力に影響を与えていること，文章コミュニケーション力のみ高いタイプでは，態度がその能力に影響を与えていることが分かった．そして，条件付き確率分布を考察することにより，批判的思考力に関わるスキルが高いタイプと低いタイプで，必要な行動や態度の強さによる能力向上の変化に違いがあることが分かった．

日本教育学会論文誌, 日本教育情報学会, 31巻, 1号, 掲載ページ 43-54, 出版日 2015年07月31日, 査読付, 文部科学省は平成23年度より,小学校の新学習要領において,英語学習における第5・6学年での「外国語活動」の必修化の全面実施を行い,さらに第3・4学年における必修化の検討も行っている.また,初等中等教育段階からのグローバル化に対応した教育環境作りを進めるにあたり,小中高等学校を通じた英語教育改革を計画的に進めるための「英語教育改革実施計画」を平成25年に発表した.そこで,本研究では小学校の2年生の英語学習プロセスログデータを収集し,本調査学習前テストの各分野(リスニング,リーディング,ライティング,スピーキング)の偏差値に基づくクラスタリングによりタイプ分けを行い,学習パターンにおいて共通点があるかログデータの分析を詳細に行い,小学生低学年から英語教育を始めるにあたり,各タイプでどのような勉強法が英語の能力向上に有効であるかモデル化・検証を行った.それにより,各タイプに有効な学習方法を示すことが出来た.

Recently the ministry announced a new implementation program of English educational reformation towards the globalizations which aims at earlier starting ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Language) from grade 3 and increasing the time to teach English for all classes in primary students, and also strengthening the leadership for all students from primary to senior high school students. A statement of the ministry's official guidelines for school teaching in elementary schools published in 2008 describes that "When dealing with sound, teacher should make active use of audio-visual materials such as CDs and DVDs" [1]. A Japanese company developed a new type of sound based pen touch equipment with several functions of reading and speaking on the textbook, and recording of a student's spoken English and playback of the sound. This new equipment is expected to enhance the practical English learning experience effectively for ESOL learning students in place of CDs. We planned an experimental survey research project at a Japanese elementary school to assess the effectiveness of new type of equipment.

教育情報研究, 日本教育情報学会, 29巻, 2号, 掲載ページ 15-28, 出版日 2013年12月, 査読付, 教育・学習効果は,学生・生徒によって個人差が大きいため,個人差を考慮して,タイプ別に測ることが重要である.タイプ別分析を行う場合には,クラス,学年,学校,市区,都道府県等,どの単位で分析を行うかは様々考えられ得るが,どの場合でもその単位全体が同一母集団と見なされる場合に従来研究は有効であった.しかし,教育・学習現場では,各学年,各学校等の学校生活・学習構造が同一でない場合も多い.全く構造に類似性がなければ別々にタイプ別分析を行えばよいが,構造に類似性もあるが異質性もあるという状況が多い.そこで,本論文では,複数母集団を考慮した階層的タイプ別教育・学習効果分析システムを提案し,有用性を示した.まず,2つの階層的タイプ別教育・学習効果分析手法を提案し,分析システムの拡張を行った.さらに,高校生活学習活動データを提案するシステムを用いて分析し,得られる知見の有用性を示した.

品質工学会誌, 品質工学会, 20巻, 1号, 掲載ページ 56-64, 出版日 2012年02月, 査読付,In the Mahalanobis-Taguchi (MT) system known as the new pattern recognition methodology, Taguchi method(1), in which the results of the synthetic judgments are able to have plus values or minus values, do not generate multi-collinearity. In this study, we propose to measure the educational effectiveness by Taguchi method(1) in consideration of the characteristics (simultaneity,heterogeneity) of education, and its usefulness is examined. This paper shows the concept of modeling the measurement of educational effectiveness, and proposes some measures for the increase of internal knowledge and compares them. The extension of Taguchi method(1) to the measurement of educational effectiveness is studied, the selection of the characteristic items is examined and the combined estimates are obtained. It is shown that Taguchi method(1) is valid for the measurement of educational effectiveness. As a result, we could extract educational and learning factors for increasing internal knowledge and make improvement proposals from the standpoints of both teacher and student. In addition, we showed that we could make improvement proposals in consideration of the heterogeneity for the individual student.

In this paper, we examine the trends in the differences between self-evaluations and others' evaluations of learners' abilities, goals, and results as they learn improvement activities through the learning-type PDCA or CAPD cycle. In addition, using graphical modelling, we examine how to explain differences among evaluations according to the characteristics of individual students and how to design effective learning activities through the learning-type PDCA and CAPD cycles. 教育情報研究, 日本教育情報学会, 26巻, 4号, 掲載ページ 25-36, 出版日 2011年06月, 査読付, 教育効果は学生によって個人差が大きいため,個人差を考慮して分析をすることが重要である.本研究では,ベイジアンネットワークによる学生タイプ別教育効果分析における測定精度及び予測精度の検証を行った.具体的には,まず学生の群分け精度を上げる方法,すなわち,学生分類に有用な初期能力変数を選択し,因子分析により各年度或いは複数年度総合の学生母集団の変数間構造の類似性を確認した上で,因子得点を用いたクラスタリングにより学生タイプを分類することがその後の教育効果測定・予測に有用であることを示した.そして,教育効果の仮説モデルの比較検討を行った上で選択されたモデルによる教育効果の測定精度・予測精度が良いことを示した.

Given this background, many studies have been performed on the enhancement of student satisfaction with educational quality. On the other hand, quality assurance in university education has been researched as an important topic. Therefore, the Central Education Council, an advisory body of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has begun to consider the introduction of the concept of "graduate attributes," which refers to the "minimum ability that students should acquire upon graduation." As a result, great importance has been placed on the achievement of a balance between the "satisfaction of students" and "educational quality" in order to improve the quality of universities in a comprehensive manner. This study proposes a model measuring educational effects for assurance of education quality and improvement of student satisfaction, focusing on the concepts of both "fourth-generation evaluation" and "graduate attributes." This paper proposes the concept for the construction of the models, designs the method for data acquisition, and shows the results of actual analysis by structural equation modeling. Furthermore, for assurance of graduate attributes, students are classified on the basis of their reasons for taking the course and learning outcomes. The paper then proposes a model for improving students' learning styles and analyzes their ability on the basis of the model.

It is a management technique that maintains constructing the relationship needed by the customer, while accurately understanding the customer and keeping the values desired by the customer fulfilled. In this paper, we expand the idea, propose Student Relationship Management (SRM) to construct and maintain an excellent long-term mutual relationship between the university and students, and also propose a matrix of learning needs as a tool for achieving SRM. Finally, we show a method for segmenting students according to learning type, for study support based on the idea of SRM.

日本図書館情報学会誌, 日本図書館情報学会, 54巻, 2号, 掲載ページ 71-96, 出版日 2008年06月, 査読付, 市立図書館に関する市民意識調査では,一般的に一変量分布やクロス表を用いた解析が行われることが多い。しかし,市立図書館が知りたいのは,より詳細に,どのような特性を持った人が,どのような利用の仕方をし,どのような要望をもっているのかということである。本論文では,文部科学省の「社会教育活性化21世紀プラン」の「地域情報化拠点としての調布市立図書館のあり方に関する調査」に対し,個人の特性による利用状況や要望・満足度の違いを把握できるようにアンケートを設計した。そして,構造方程式モデリングによりモデル化を行い,特に,時間的・金銭的余裕,本の選好,家族構成などが,どのように市立図書館利用に影響を与えているか市民全体の意識を考察した。さらに,利用者と非利用者に分けた分析,中央図書館利用者と分館利用者に分けた分析を行い,非利用者や分館利用者の特徴を検討した。そして,顕在的にはわからない潜在的な図書館利用のタイプを潜在クラスを用いて分析した。

日本経営工学会論文誌, 社団法人日本経営工学会, 57巻, 5号, 掲載ページ 374-387, 出版日 2006年12月, 査読付, PDCA管理サイクルの概念が1930年代にシューハートにより提唱され,50年代からデミングにより大きく発展し,品質管理分野で重要な役割を果している.また,品質管理工程においては,x^^-管理図を用い,管理を遂行するときに,新たに管理線を決めることから始める場合と,受動的に異常が発生したとき,その異常を究明して処置を行うため,工程を調べること(Check)から始める場合がある.本研究では,まず,その二つの場合に基づいて,納期遅れのペナルティを考慮したPDCAモデルとCAPDモデルそれぞれを定義し,納期の変化による両モデルについて詳しく分析し,数理的定式化例を示している.次に,3σルールとARL(Average Run Length)によって異常を判断する両モデルの検討を行い,さらに,数値考察により,両モデルの総期待コストCtを最小化するために,短操業時間における時間に関係するパラメーターとCtの関係についての詳細な考察を行う.最後に,両モデルの比較を行うことによって,短納期工程においては,CAPDモデルよりPDCAモデルの総期待コストの方が安いが,納期が長くなると,CAPDモデルよりPDCAモデルの総期待コストの方が高くなることが分かった.

The CAPD model is based on cases which start from (Check) searching the assignable cause occurring passively in the out-of-control state. In addition, clarifying and treating this assignable cause in due time with minimum cost are demanded. When the (x) over bar chart is used in the short production run process, clarifying the relation between the time parameters and the total expectation cost of Ct, and setting the optimal due time have become new problems for the quality manager. To study these questions, the mathematical formulations which correspond to this case are shown. Moreover, by numerically analyzing the proposed model, the new relationships between the key time parameters (mean out of control time 1/mu, mean in control time1/lambda, and due time T) and Ct (the total expectation cost) are found, and the setting of optimal due time T is discussed.

In the field of the qualitative improvement of commercial products, the statistical analysis of process data has a long history and questionnaire surveys for the qualitative improvement of such products are often performed. In this paper, we study the improvement of the quality of education from the standpoint of quality system engineering. However, the method for improving the quality of a commercial product cannot be easily applied to education. In the case of most products, it is comparatively easy to grasp the relationship between the product and the demand, because the persons who require the improvement of products and the improved products are not the same, and also products do not have the mind and heart. In the field of education, students who demand improved education are the same students who would benefit from this improvement, and they are intelligent, motivated, and have their own ways of working. Therefore, when the demand concerning the qualitative improvement of education is investigated, it is necessary to use a method that can clarify the relationship between the demands and characteristics of students. In this study, to analyze such a relationship, a questionnaire survey design is examined and enhanced, and two types of modeling are described and examined, and their effectiveness was confirmed.

Today, when more speed is required, CAPD cycle, that begins with a close checking of the phenomena, has been shown to increase total time efficiency in some cases. Today, in education, students are strongly demanding learning efficiency. They are very interested in discovering their learning methods in various cases in order to improve their learning efficiency. From the perspective of learning quality improvement, this is a very interesting problem. Taking the learning-type PDCA cycle and CAPD cycle for consideration, this study analyzes text data by the text mining of 105 actual students' reports on carrying out learning improvement activities with one of the above cycles (49 students using the PDCA cycle and 56 students using the CAPD cycle). This study shows our research results of a comparison of the features of these two cycles. Moreover, examining the individual difference of students' learning methods by analyzing the learning process expressed in words in detail, this study shows that we can find points for improvement for more efficient learning.

It is also not enough to carry out guidance using only each students' data. However, even though teachers wish to make highly detailed guidance for the sake of students, the teachers have to spend enormous amount of time without useful tools and it is impossible to implement the guidance. Consequently, we make inquiries about students' teaming situations, learning methods, motivation, learning attitudes, teaming psychology, and more from various perspectives and turn these answers into data. Then We accumulate the data in a database along with students' examination scores. Here we demonstrate our research achievement about database to show what factors facilitate the improvement of each subject's score, and present a comprehensive improvement policy to students in an understandable: way. We demonstrate the possibility of confirming students' current position in the whole group, expanding the method used in database marketing to the issue of improving educational quality, and giving students flexible guidance, providing advice on appropriate learning methods in accordance with students' characteristics by statistical analyses.

日本経営工学会論文誌, 公益社団法人 日本経営工学会, 51巻, 3号, 掲載ページ 220-226, 出版日 2000年08月, 査読付, 生産工程におけるデータに対して, 原因系変数と結果系変数の関係を表すために回帰モデルや混合モデルを想定して解析することがよくある.そして, その解析結果が少数個の観測値に大きく依存して決まり, それらの観測値を除けば全く異なる結果が得られてしまうことがある.そこで, 各観測値の解析結果に対する影響を評価し, 解析結果をより頑健なものとしたい.これまで, 種々の診断統計量が回帰分析の分野で開発され, その性質が詳細に検討されてきた.混合モデルに関しては, Christensen, Pearson and Johnson〔1〕がCase-Deletion診断に関する研究を行っている.本論文では, 回帰分析における診断の際に影響解析の考え方に基づき影響観測値の評価による安定性の点検をする上で重要な統計量であったテコ比を混合モデルに拡張して, その性質を検討した結果を報告している.さらに, 生産工程問題における一般化テコ比の有用性を示している.

When a drug is administered orally or by intramuscular injection, the concentration of the drug in the blood-time curve can often be modeled using a one-compartment model assuming first-order absorption in the field of pharmacokinetics. As to incorporation of individual variation, which is important statistically in modeling of repeated measurements, variations within an individual are taken into account in the model by a Wiener process and variations between individuals are expressed as differences in parameters. Accordingly, in this study, repeated measurements are modeled by a continuous rime series statistically which was obtained from a one-compartment model assuming first-order absorption representing the dynamics affecting the data. The proposed model is not a random or mixed effect model but a fixed effect model; however, the covariance matrix includes values which differ between individuals. This is a new type of statistical modeling for repeated measurements, with flexibility, due to use of the link between statistics and dynamics. On the basis of the above, hypotheses of equality of treatment effects and equality of parameters between individuals are tested.

品質, 一般社団法人 日本品質管理学会, 28巻, 2号, 掲載ページ 243-252, 出版日 1998年04月, 査読付, 製造工程における多変数の原因系と多変数の結果系との関連, あるいは製品の多変数の物理特性と多変数の感覚特性との関連を解析するために正準相関分析をよく行う.正準相関分析では, 結果系と原因系の変数群それぞれの線形の総合特性(正準変量)をその相関が各段階で最大となるように求めるが, 結果系に対しては線形の総合特性ではなく, 総合的な多変量のパターンに興味があり, そのパターンが原因系(共変量)xのどの要因でよく説明できるかをしりたい場合も多いと考えられる.本論文は, この目的のための解析方法を提案しており, 本方法によれば相関係数は小さくても, xとyとの間にはある種のクラスター対応関係のあるデータ構造, すなわち, yの多変量空間でデータがいくつかのクラスターに分けられるように分布しており, その各クラスターが対応するxの多変量空間においてもクラスターをなしているというデータ構造が解析でき, 従来の多変量解析手法では把握できなかった構造の解析が可能であることを示している.

However it is very difficult to develop the method by which students can be given the education that values their characteristics.
In this paper, I propose a statistical method which is useful to find the vector representing characteristic of each student. I model each student's standardized observation vector by his/her student mean vector and his/her time-dependent characteristic vector. Then I propose that we grasp each student's mean vector standardized by the inverse matrix of its covariance matrix Σ as his/her first characteristic vector. Furthermore I propose that we grasp first eigen vector leaded through generalized spectral decomposition of each student's intra covariance matrix Ωi against Σ as his/her second characteristic vector during the period. And I show vectors representing characteristics of typical students.

品質工学, 品質工学会, 5巻, 6号, 掲載ページ 22-29, 出版日 1997年, 査読付, In an education process either in school, in-company or other areas, it is not easy to evaluate human learning effectiveness, This paper presents the results of an experimental study on educating people to read the scale of a measuring device. The device was selected because it was easy to measure peoples reactions. Various educational effects such as educating methods, time-passage or psychological aspects, etc., were studied in the experiment. There was a significant range in peoples reading error which was one of the largest sources of measuring variation. The characteristics used to evaluate the educational effects were : (1) the final scale reading,and (2) the square-root of"work"done before reading the scale. The former represents the reading observed (consciously) by the people, and the latter is the calculated results indicating the sub-conscious feeling of the people while adjusting the measuring device. ln this study, this represent the measurement stability.

日本経営工学会誌, 公益社団法人 日本経営工学会, 46巻, 2号, 掲載ページ 107-113, 出版日 1995年, 査読付, ANOMとは, Analysis of Meansのことで, 多重検定を基礎においた独立なk個の平均を比較する方法としてOtt(1967)によって図的な形で提案されたものである.またOtt(1967)は, 交互作用についてもANOMを用いて検定することを議論している.しかし, 交互作用に関して実際に重要な情報は, それが水準全体を通してあるかないかということより, どのような傾向の交互作用が存在するかということである.本論文では, 二元配置実験において一つの要因に関しては離れている水準の間の交互作用には興味がない場合に, その傾向をつかむため, ANOMを用いて一要因に関するLocal Interactionの検定を行う方法を提案している.

It is proved that the proposed test is the Bayes test. Powers of the proposed test are compared with those of other tests.

日本経営工学会誌, 公益社団法人 日本経営工学会, 45巻, 6号, 掲載ページ 514-520, 出版日 1994年, 査読付, 食品工業, 化学工業等においては, 生産物の特性が生産物に含まれている成分の割合に依存している場合が多い.実験計画の立場から, 特性と成分の割合の関係を研究するための実験を混合実験という.混合実験における混合成分変数の合計は1であるという制約をもつ.従って, 混合実験は直交性のある実験ではないため, 通常の直交性を基礎にした実験計画をそこに適用することはできない.本論文では, 混合実験における加法性モデルを考えたときに, 推定可能な成分について, 有用な対比を用いることによってその主効果の持つ特徴をつかむ方法についての提案を行っている.

応用統計学, Japanese Society of Applied Statistics, 18巻, 3号, 掲載ページ 163-180, 出版日 1990年, 査読付, 制約付き対立仮説をもつ検定問題に対して,多変量正規確率ベクトルの分散共分散行列の固有値と固有ベクトルに基づく検定を考察する.特に,各固有ベクトルと対立仮説との距離に応じて,検定統計量の固有ベクトル方向に起因する寄与を調整することを提案する.この方法でNairの検定や累積法の改良を試みた,提案する統計量の有用性を検証するために一元配置分散分析を取り上げ,確かにNairの検定及び累積法の検出力特性を改善することを示した.
提案する検定はt統計量の重み付き二乗和であり,ベイズ検定であることも証明される.
また,提案する統計量の近似であるスコア検定統計量も提案する.

Those are the cases we must consider the alternatives with inequality restrictions to the interaction effects. In this paper, a simple method for constructing a score statistic is proposed, and the usefulness of the proposed statistic is shown by comparing the powers of the proposed score method, other score methods and usual F test against some typical alternatives. Further we indicate that we can construct the score which can be applied for the case of unbalanced replications, which has not been examined yet.

- 教育の質向上のための個人差データ分析
